There have been a few reports over the last couple of years about gangs of women in Zimbabwe having their way with unwilling men. We are not hear to make light of rape, that’s not our thing.
But this particular gentleman, an unnamed 20-year old from the eastern Manicaland province, has been caught out for laying five different rape charges across the country, all of which were found to be false. TimesLive reports:
The 20-year-old man told police in the northern town of Kariba that he had made up the reports to “get sympathy from people who would then give him money and food”.
It had previously been reported that the gangs of women accused of raping hitch-hikers were using the semen gathered as part of get-rich-quick potions.
This is not the first time a man has been caught claiming rape to garner sympathy. Again, TimesLive:
In 2012, a 25-year-old man claimed he too had been raped and robbed by a three-woman gang in the border city of Mutare. It later emerged that he had spent his entire salary on a girlfriend and was too scared to go home.
Sometimes you just gotta head home, tail between your legs and face the music buddy. We’ve all been there.
