Those familiar with the Le Mans 24 hour race might remember McLaren’s rather impressive showing in the 1995 edition of the race.
Need your memory jogged? Topgear has you covered:
…in 1995, five McLaren F1 GTR models finished the Le Mans 24hr race, coming in 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 13th, practically locking out the front.
Now, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of this legendary racing feat, McLaren have pimped out their 650S model and introduced us to the ‘Le Mans’ edition.
Rather easy on the eye, yes? Unfortunately it won’t be as easy on the wallet, with the price standing at £244 500 (around R4 290 000). McLaren is only producing 50 of the ‘Le Mans’ edition so if you have some spare change lying around, snap one up. They will even invite you to a special 20th anniversary celebration at Le Mans. Too kind.
