When I read about the kidnapping of Robert Allenby, a multi-millionaire pro golfer, in Hawaii last week I thought something seemed fishy. Now, after a witness told a different version to that of the golfer’s, I may not be alone.
I am pained to say it, but it seems even the imbecile Piers Morgan agrees with me.
According to Mashable Allenby described the attack as such:
…he had been robbed, beaten and dumped in a park on Friday night when he visited a bar after missing the cut in the Sony Open…
Allenby said the attack left him with cuts and a deep scrape on his forehead…
Allenby added that a homeless woman came to his aid, finding him six miles away dumped in a park with no recollection of how he got there. The homeless woman, Charade Keane (yes, her real name), had a somewhat different account:
Keane said she found Allenby a block away from the bar, not six miles, where he was trying to pay two men $500 to get his belongings back. She told Nine News he requested she use his remaining credit card to withdraw the money to pay the men off. When the men became aggressive, she helped Allenby leave the situation in a cab with a retired military man.
Who knows, maybe there’s something funky going on here, or it could just be that someone slipped a little something into his drink that night and his recollections are all kinds of foggy. We can’t point any fingers, we’ve had those kind of nights, although the damage has been self-inflicted.
