This Is What A R1.1 Billion New York Apartment Looks Like [Gallery]

Watching the property market is nerve-wrecking at times. You just don't know when the best time to buy is. If you have $100m to spend though, I suppose you don't really care about timing.

It seems that Manhattan is in the middle of a property boom. But, when I say property, I’m not talking a little bachelor pad with the shower over the kitchen sink. I’m talking multi-million dollar, what-dreams-are-made-of apartments.

You remember this one, that was on the market for $95million? It’s in the 432 Park Avenue building. Well, it just got eclipsed by another apartment, which sold for a record breaking $100 471 452,77.

The building is called One57 and is in Midtown Manhattan. The apartment? It’s a two-level duplex penthouse. Did I mention the building is a skyscraper?

Let’s have a look…

They’re keeping the interior of the apartment quite hush-hush image wise, so these are renditions, but you can get the idea of the space and light. Did I mention there is a Park Hyatt in the building? Yeah. Exactly.

Cape Town has an equivalent to opulent living – The Enigma Mansion in Camps Bay. Sadly, you may have missed your shot on owning that one…

Best you buy a lotto ticket for tomorrow’s Powerball. You could win $208 million, so you could step in and buy either the condo or the mansion and still have some cash left over for a lovely vacation to Beaver Creek (I hear the skiing has been lovely this season).
