The Pope Is a Big Fan Of Public Breastfeeding

A high-profile figure has come out in support of breast-feeding in public, and whilst he may seem a somewhat unlikely advocate it isn't the first time he has made his views known.

This Pope Francis seems like an alright bloke, doesn’t he?

Firstly, in what was a massive deviation from the usual Catholic Church rhetoric, he suggested that the Church should re-examine their standpoint on same sex marriages, a good summary of which can be found HERE. Yes, he didn’t exactly give out a ringing endorsement but it was a step in the right direction.

Now he has, in the midst of delivering a speech during a mass baptism in the Sistine Chapel, announced that women should feel free to breastfeed in public. This quote from Time:

You mothers give your children milk and even now, if they cry because they are hungry, breast-feed them, don’t worry.

The old codger has previously made public his stance on the issue, which is a win for those championing the rights of women to breastfeed in public.

Personally, anything that results in Olivia Wilde making the news is alright by me.
