As soon as it was announced that Bill Cosby would be doing a stand-up comedy tour of Canada there was only one question on everyone’s minds…would he address the ongoing controversy surrounding the multiple (and we mean multiple) women accusing him of rape?

Well maybe it was the second question, the first being how the holy eff can people buy tickets to see this man, putting money in his pocket, until he publicly fronts up and faces the allegations head on?

Anyway, lo and behold, Cosby cracked a rape joke. These tweets, taken from Gawker, best sum up the reception of Cosby’s wisecrack.

Now it’s not like no comedian has ever cracked a rape joke on stage before (Jimmy Carr, anyone?), but it is a little different when there is a rugby team’s worth of women currently accusing you of the crime.

If this proves anything, it is that Canadians are the most polite people in the world, and that given the right amount of Grade-A weed, they will laugh at just about anything.
