A prominent Johannesburg businessman has been named as a suspect in the death of a South African woman at a lavish Mauritian holiday resort.
Lee-Ann Palmarozza was found dead in the swimming pool at the Anahita resort, although foul play is suspected after a post-mortem showed bruises and a blow to the forehead.
Palmarozza and her boyfriend, Peter Roberts, were holidaying at the resort where Roberts owns a villa complete with a butler, a private chef, a helicopter and a boat.
Palmarozza’s brother Shaun said the family was “broken” by the sister’s death and wanted answers.
“According to Peter they were at the pool and … he then went to the villa to take a shower. When he was done he couldn’t find her. He then searched for her and eventually found her in the pool.
When the autopsy report came out we learnt she had suffered multiple bruises to the body and a blow to the forehead. It’s all so surreal, we can’t believe she’s gone.
Roberts is remaining on the island whilst the police conduct their investigation, which must be a real hassle having to spend your days cooped up on a 5-star island in your luxury villa.
