If you happened to be a fan of the Hof’s Knight Rider series many moons ago, where his car possesses the ability to talk and drive itself so the Hof can focus on looking like a 80’s porn star, there is a new app just for you.
No, it won’t help you grow a killer moustache and carpet your chest in thick, curly hair but it will allow you to pull off a number of basic car functions from your smartphone.
Once you have installed the Drone Mobile remote start module, telematics device and the GPS unit is connected to your car’s computer, you are ready to get started.
The app gives you the ability to remotely turn your car off and on with a simple smartphone swipe. As well as starting and turning off the engine, the Drone Mobile app also gives you the power to remotely control the car’s windows and lock or unlock the car’s trunk.
If you want to upgrade to the premium service there is an added GPS tracker to ensure loved ones get home safely or thieves don’t get too far. There is even a panic button which should startle any car prospectors into fleeing the scene. We can see this last feature being of particular importance, whether to keep your car safe or just give a passer-by a lekker skrik.
