When South Africans get together for a good time with friends and family, it is normally around our national pastime – the time-honoured, traditional braai. Belmond Mount Nelson is offering you the opportunity to do exactly that, but in festive season grand style, overlooking the hotel’s magnificent gardens.
Imagine a balmy summer evening, unwinding with a glass in hand (the fully stocked Garden Bar will be open from 5pm) watching the chefs getting heated up over the fire, grilling juicy rib-eye steaks, spicy boerewors, Karoo lamb cutlets, herby chicken thighs and freshly caught linefish: all served with an abundant array of exotic and colourful, sunny salads. But, first get your hands sticky with zingy peri-peri chicken wings or try some mussel parcels or braai’ed cheese and tomato ciabatta. Make sure to leave some space for the dessert table and – of course – chef Rudi’s “to die for” braaied Amarula bananas.
The Nellie’s Braai will be open from 7pm – 11pm on 21st December, with two sittings, one at 7pm and one at 9pm.
The cost is R595 per adult and R295 per child under 12 years.
Reservations are essential.
