Wow. So, it’s the end of 2014, finally! I’m sure for some it has been a roller coaster of awesomeness, and for some it has been a bumpy ride, but remember that if you’re reading this, you have survived and you have rocked out and you’re on top (even if you feel like you’re not). Motivational speech over.
I for one am completely shattered, and my eyeballs feel like they are going to burn holes into my brain (what’s left of it) if I have to stare at my laptop screen for one more day, especially after our end of year party last week at Cafe Caprice.
Because honestly, what do you get if you mix the summer sunset through the white arches of Caprice with Jack Daniel’s and CocoFina cocktails? You get nothing but pure awesomeness. But you already knew the answer before I told you, didn’t you?
I tell you, it was a fun evening. Few things start the day off better than the sound of popping open ice cold bottles of Pierre Jourdan MCC. That stuff is a miracle. Those little bubbles, playing happy havoc with your mouth. We love it.
Obviously we had to line our tummies and smashed some delicious Caprice burgers in our faces – we have yet to find the winner between The Dreamy burger and The Deluxe burger. It is an ongoing debate in the office, one that can only be settled by eating more and more and more.
We managed to decorate our tables with Christmas crackers and bottles of limited edition Grolsch – the labels had the most beautiful designs and I definitely took two of the artichoke covered ones home for a bit of salad dressing.
We were well into our third or fourth beer/glass of bubbly when we felt a rush of cool sea air breeze through the open windows. Being a still summer’s eve, we wondered what it could possibly be. It was Seth, cruising in on his Vespa, not having to worry about trying to find that near-extinct thing called a “parking bay” in Camps Bay in the middle of season. Clever man, that.
Once darkness fell, we moved everything outside, including the party and the ice buckets.
We had been at Caprice for a good eight hours by this stage and were in desperate need of something to wake us up. Cue the Red Bull, which had us dancing away until the wee hours of the morning.
We’re gonna miss you guys over the holidays but will see you bright and early in the new year.
All our love from the 2ov team XOXOX
