Anyway, the people that filmed the video, Jason Russell, Bobby Bailey, Laren Poole and Ben Keesey made international news by making Kony the most wanted man in the world.
But things didn’t stay positive for very long…
…the tone of the conversation surrounding Invisible Children grew more and more cynical. Invisible Children’s public financial records were dissected. The lives of its founders were scrutinized, The entire endeavor was increasingly portrayed as a result of a “White savior complex” gone awry.
Russell and Keesey who head up the Invisible Children organisation, have “hinted at putting the organization to bed”, and are “shutting down all U.S. operations and transferring control of their Uganda, Congo, and Central African Republic programs to local groups”.
