Good lord this is amazing.
It’s quite insane how one little word can cause such a ruckus, but “jerking” managed to do the trick, all because of an ad campaign in South Dakota called “Don’t Jerk and Drive”.
The ad campaign, intended to keep people from over correcting and jerking their steering wheels in icy conditions, struck some as offensive because of its allusion to masturbation.
Haha, of course.
Trevor Jones, the secretary of the Department of Public Safety, has said that he has pulled the ad because it “is an important safety message and I [Jones] don’t want this innuendo to distract from our goal to save lives on the road.”
Yeah, guys, don’t jerk and drive.
