Right. Let’s get the back story to this guy first, so we all know what’s going on.
Scot Young was found on Monday, impaled by the railings “beneath the balcony of his £3 million Marylebone property”. The police are treating it as a suicide, but there could be more to the story.
Mr Young was once a multi-millionaire, but apparently lost it all in a deal gone wrong with some Russians. He was also fighting a divorce battle with ex-wife, Michelle. She thinks he was hiding millions of pounds somewhere, and has even gone so far as to hire intelligence services.
Officially, Mr Young earned his fortune as a property developer but such is the mystery surrounding his complicated finances that it still remains unclear whether he actually did possess that £400million fortune, or whether he was, as he continually claimed during his epic divorce battle, completely broke.
Young was engaged to Noelle Reno, an American fashion designer, and she has said that “she has lost her best friend”.
As for it being a suicide, friends and acquaintances say it is “preposterous to suggest that he would contemplate taking his own life”. Young supposedly said to a friend that he was fearing for his life, and that he suspected he was being followed.
Whilst spending eight months in prison last year, Mr Young “apparently came to believe there was ‘a price on his head’”.
Now the police are “under pressure to review their position” because so many people have said that Young wouldn’t have taken his own life.
