There is something absolutely amazing happening in the Mother City this Friday, and it won’t matter if there is electricity or not – because, LED candles!
To get into the festive spirit mode that descends on our beautiful city each summer, why not head to the City Hall on Friday evening and party for a good cause?
You’ll get to razzle with Goodluck, Beatenberg, The Kiffness and James A. Copeland, and you will be doing something good at the same time. What’s more, it will be generator powered and off the Eskom grid!
Brought to you by Butler’s Pizza and 2oceansvibe and produced by 3 Blind Mice and Goodluck, Christmas in the Dark is a powerwise festive party aimed to encourage businesses and consumers to support power saving measures both at work and at home, and in particular for consumers to support businesses working together with Eskom to reduce their load on the grid by 10% or more.
Your R150 ticket (get it here) will also get you a R100 Butler’s Pizza voucher to use during the festive season, and for every ticket sold Butler’s will also donate a Quarter Pizza in the name of the ticket holder to Little Fighters Cancer Trust to be enjoyed by the kids this season.
And of course Butlers pizza will be on sale throughout the event – sold in quarter-pizza slices, to celebrate their 25 years smilestone. That happened last Friday (here).
What is this Powerwise thing?
Butlers is leading the way with its PowerWise Pizza System, which proactively reduces the pizza kitchen load on the grid by more than 70% by switching to gas when Eskom is under strain.
The PowerWise campaign reaches out to all businesses to follow suit; and for consumers to give these businesses their support in a joint national effort to keep the lights on and the nation smiling. It’s in our hands. What are we waiting for?
You’re also invited to bring any toys along and donate them to No Danger Diaries, who will then deliver them to The Red Cross Children’s Hospital.
OMG – SO EXCITED!
