Rumour has it that Muammar Gaddafi has trillions hidden away in secret places in Joburg and Pretoria. We’re talking tons of gold, six million carats of diamonds and ridiculous amounts of US dollars in cash.
According to The Sunday Independent, the loot was “ferried to South Africa in at least 62 flights between Tripoli and South Africa”.
The R2 trillion excludes several billion rands held legally in four banks in South Africa.
Obviously Jacob Zuma is involved in this (he “got involved in an African Union process to persuade Gaddafi to step down after an uprising to force him out of office”), and one can only speculate that maybe Libya paid for Nkandla?
The treasure (because that’s really what it is) is possibly being hidden in “seven heavily-guarded warehouses and bunkers in secret locations”.
P.S. Gaddafi is dead, so those four banks should just free the money and feed the poor, me thinks.
