Looking back to when I lived with my family of five, in our family home in the ‘burbs, it always seemed like we had lots of ‘stuff’. And I don’t mean fancy things like expensive art murals or koi ponds with waterfalls; I mean the kind of clutter a family of five collects over time – one of which was a hammock we bought at a Knysna market!
This was a very exciting time for me, as I was about 10 at the time. It was one of those long, netted hammocks – the kind you have to meticulously edge yourself into, in an effort not to topple over face-first into the ground.
And so, since I enjoyed playing The Sims more than chilling in an unbalanced net at 10 years old and my dad was about 15kgs heavier than he should’ve been (how do they expect a man of such physique to balance lying down on that thing!), the hammock went to waste.
If only we had such an easy hammock like this one, our “precious family assets” would not have gone to waste. I give you: easy chill time:
