Clearly the man in question, ex-mayor of Lichtenburg Eugene Nel is resisting arrest and the police on the scene hardly use excessive force to restrain him.
Nel is accused of having interfered when the two officers attended an accident scene involving other motorists at a mall in Lichtenburg.
He allegedly ordered police around and when the officers refused to listen to his orders, slapped one of the officers and called them k****s, Ngubane said..
“The attempt to arrest came after the suspect insulted and interfered with police officials while attending to an accident scene.
Nel went on to appear at the Lichtenburg magistrate’s court yesterday, facing charges of assault common, crimen injuria, interfering with a police official while performing duties and resisting arrest.
