This is quite the sticky situation.
A whole heap of Korean prostitutes – who spent their nights tending to the needs of the American soldiers based in South Korea – are now claiming compensation from the South Korean government.
Their argument: The South Korean government facilitated their work in order to keep American forces happy. And very happy it seems…
In a community centre next to the US base at Uijeongbu City in South Korea, a group of them gather to explain their case. “We worked all night long. What I want is for the Korean government to recognise that this is a system that it created… and also compensation.”
The 120 strong Korean prostitutes, who are now old, poor and washed up, are demanding compensation of $10,000 (£6,360) each.
