At one stage or another everybody loved Creed. And it shows because Creed has sold around 30 million albums in the United States alone.
So you can be forgiven for thinking it’s odd that lead singer Scott Stapp revealed he is “penniless”, and living in a Holiday Inn.
The 15-minute video is titled “Public Statement #1”. According to Stapp, he recently looked over his finances and realised that his money had been secretly stolen.
He sounds dazed in the video, and struggles to put together his sentences as he stares distantly into the camera.
Earlier this week, Stapp’s wife, smoking hot ex-Miss USA Jaclyn Stapp, filed for divorce and asked for full custody of the couple’s children.
She also released recent text messages she had received from Scott…and it’s not pretty
▪ “Florida is not safe. Biological weapons on the way. U have to leave with kids and meet me in Atlanta.”
▪ “I’m coming to get you Satan and children. No mercy. You know how this ends. God created you and now God is ending you.”
▪ “God is also telling me something about Palm Springs and Nashville so there’s a connection somehow. He’s also telling me DEA for some reason.”
▪ “Wells Fargo working out my account problems. I’m out of gas. Haven’t eaten all day. I’m asking if they can spot me $1,000 so I don’t fall over from malnutrition.”
▪ “I wouldn’t doubt it if the CIA is behind Alcoholics Anonymous.”
That’s some crazy talk right there. But he couldn’t possibly have been tripping on anything when he wrote those deluded texts, because he also claims he isn’t on drugs or alcohol any longer.
Things aren’t looking so bright for the Creed lead man, he needs to find the light, and find it quick.
