Eminem has been rather quiet lately.
The genius behind the Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show hasn’t been able to quite reach the heights of his early career stardom, and has struggled lately to top the charts regularly.
No matter – he’s dropped a sick new music video for us all.
The clip, directed by art collective Syndrome, opens with an athlete preparing for a fight backstage. But the action jumps back six months earlier to show his downtrodden home life as he struggles to pay the bills and provide for his alcoholic father and pregnant wife. As family and work issues continue to mount, the man takes out his frustrations on his opponents, continuing to build his boxing skills.
Em’s lyrics paint the picture you see in the video, as he raps in his classic rapid-fire style about escaping from poverty and trailer parks.
