Two of the greatest Springboks of all time, Victor Matfield and Jean de Villiers, will be part of a star-studded Springbok T20 team to take on the Proteas at the Nelson Mandela Legacy Cup T20 in Johannesburg on December 5.
The match will celebrate the one year anniversary of Madiba’s death, and it will be played in his honour and in celebration of his legacy.
Matfield and de Villiers will be joined by the likes of gain line warrior Willem Alberts, IRB Player of the Year nominee Willie le Roux, recently-retired wrecking ball Tiaan Liebenberg and arguably the best rugby player on the planet at the moment, Duane Vermuelen.
“Everyone had a blast playing against the Proteas last year and we’re looking forward to more of the same this year,” De Villiers said from Cardiff, where the Springboks will play their final Test of 2014 against Wales on Saturday.
“At this stage however, our focus is solely on Wales this weekend. Thereafter we’ll start putting our plans in place for the match at the Wanderers.
The game will also be televised live on SuperSport 2.
