My gosh, Malema almost went 24-hours without causing a reaction.
Remember the debacle last week at the National Assembly, when EFF MP Godrich Gardee and Lindiwe Zulu had the little tiff outside, and Zulu ended up being restrained by police? (Let’s be honest, we’re all trying to forget it.)
Jules continued the comedy-drama with a lovely little comment at the press conference, which Verashni Pillay attended, the day after the NA circus.
Lindiwe Zulu is a street meid.
Nice one.
He managed to call her that over and over, and for all of you out there who don’t understand it (like me), calling someone a “street meid” is derogatory slang.
It is a slang phrase, more commonly pronounced “straat meid” that generally refers to a rough woman, sometimes a prostitute, who is uncouth and wild.
Earlier in the day, Jules had called out the ANC for being sexist, says Pillay.
“How do you arrest a black female and leave a white male?” bellowed Malema. “He is not touched by police because he is a male. That is sexism. That is what the ANC suffers from. Racism and sexism.”
Pillay managed to get in a few words and asked Malema to clarify his statements about Zulu, saying it was quite sexist. She also compares him to Mugabe, which is not the best thing to be similar to.
