I’ve always thought tennis to be one of those silent games (like golf, urgh) so I find it rather surprising that this happened.
During the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals (semifinal match) in London the other day, Roger Federer’s opponent, Stan Wawrinka, stopped right before Roger’s serve to attend to some heckling from the sidelines. Turns out it was Roger’s wife, Mirka, calling Stan a “crybaby”.
Since when is this allowed during the quietest moments of a tennis match? And from someone who should know the rules?
Roger and Stan allegedly had a heated chat after the game, trying to sort out the incident. Don’t worry though, they made up and will be representing Switzerland at the Davis Cup.

Apparently Mirka is making a thing out of trying to agitate Stan…
She did the same at Wimbledon. Each time I’m on her side, she yells before every time I serve. It is unbearable.
Respect the rules of the game, Mirka.
