Remember that movie Catch me if you can? Well, Roger Day, a cheeky old Pom, has brought it to real life.
He dressed up as a war hero, wearing all of “his” medals and walking proudly amongst other old soldiers.
Turns out someone spotted him wearing a medal that one can only receive once dead, and from then on his little game was over.
The good news is that he hopefully won’t do it again.
Not only has he now been fined and had his medals confiscated under Section 197 of the Military Act 1955, but he has also been shunned by his friends and neighbours.
On explaining, the 62-year old man said that he had done it to impress his new wife.
Bless.
