The internet exploded over the weekend with people outraged over Minaj’s newly released video which is undeniably inspired by Hitler’s regime and is full of Nazi imagery. Why anyone is shocked by Nicki after the “Anaconda” video, we’re not sure. It’s clearly what she lives to do.
The animated short shows Minaj as a powerful dictator, leading an army complete with tanks and guns. Throughout the black and white video, the only colour comes from the blazing red insignia the rapper and her thousands-strong army wear around their arms, complete with a ‘YM’ symbol (representing her record company, Young Money).
Many feel that the rapper is in fact glorifying Nazism. Others have pointed out the irony that one of her guests on the track, fellow rapper Drake, is himself half-Jewish. Nicki has not made no comment so far.
