The Middleburg Toll Plaza in KZN was the place to be last night if you wanted to be a part of a massive drug bust, in case you are having Breaking Bad withdrawals (which you probably are).
The National Crime Intelligence Unit, the National Investigation Unit and the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (Hawks) caught a Bulgarian man and a Durban club owner with R85 million worth of Ecstasy tablets.
After this, a second team descended on a house in Westville.
The team recovered precursor chemicals which are commonly used in the manufacturing of drugs, particularly cocaine. They also recovered a bulk of powdered chemicals which are suspected to have been used in manufacturing illicit narcotics.
They have arrested the owner of the house and the club owner, who are business partners. They own clubs on Florida Road and in the Musgrave area of Durban.
