There is no Ebola, the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has confirmed.
The KwaZulu-Natal man had felt feverish and was referred to Addington hospital for assessment. However, he later decided that he was no longer feeling sick. He had just “wanted to be tested for Ebola as a precautionary measure”.
The NICD said that he “did not fit the case definition for Ebola Virus Disease and was not at risk” and that no specimen was taken for testing.
According to the NICD, there are no suspected cases of EVD in South Africa at present.
Yay for South Africa.
