There’s a bit of a relationship story that goes with Senzo Meyiwa. As previously reported, he was married to Mandisa Mkhize and they have a daughter together. But, for the past two years, Senzo and Kelly Khumalo have been in an on/off relationship.

In prior interviews, Kelly has always maintained that she did not know at the start of their affair that Senzo was married and that when she found out she took a step back to let Senzo fix his marriage.

“One minute we’d talk and accept that we had to go our separate ways. Then later we’d realise that ‘I don’t want to do this’ and he’d come in and out of my life. It was hard for me because I still love him, I’ll love him forever.”

The day before Senzo’s death, Kelly posted to her Instagram account. It shows a video of Senzo singing along to Kelly’s new single, Asine.

Kelly recently admitted that she and Senzo were in a relationship and that “he was a great father to their kids”.
