David Cameron got a sweaty surprise yesterday in Leeds. While the PM of the UK was walking to his car, his security officials managed to let though a day-dreaming jogger, who ran straight into Dave.
Obviously everyone thought it was an attack on the PM, and the jogger, Dean Farley, was pushed to the ground. Dave was hurried into the waiting car and driven off.
Mr Farley was completely unaware that it was David Cameron he had run into, until it was explained to him over an hour later. He explained that he is “‘not particularly political’ and was just going out on his daily lunchtime jog to the gym when he ran into a ‘bunch of men in suits'”.
The incident is under police review – and Mr Farley makes a good point here:
“It begs the question – how good is Cameron’s security if I managed to run between it before they stopped me?”
Mr Farley was later un-arrested.
