South African airports are becoming the epi-centre of drama and crime these days, and after the little debacle at Lanseria, OR Tambo International in Johannesburg has been the scene of a new crime.
A bunch of opportunistic crooks hit a crash-in-transit vehicle as it left the cargo area of the airport, ploughing their car into the CIT vehicle.
Mofokeng said after the vehicle was brought to a halt due to the collision, an unknown number of armed men ambushed the vehicle and took an undisclosed amount of money.
No arrests have been made, which is a bummer, but on the bright side, no security personal lost their lives in the incident.
The three security guards were injured and taken to hospital.
