This is not something for the fainthearted. It’s for the strong and determined (yes, you are probably also strong and determined, but I bet you’re not determined to get out of bed at 5am to go for a 10km trail run), and the incredibly fit few, who can run up and down a ten-story flight of stairs seven billion times.
The Red Bull LionHeart takes place on November 15 in Cape Town, and, more specifically, on the slopes of Lion’s Head. Going into its third year, the race has previously been a huge success.
So, what’s the story? Trail running extraordinaire Ryan Sandes decided that Cape Town needed to celebrate the opportunities it offers trail runners, and so the challenge was born.
Do you have what it takes to run the trail from bottom to top?
Entries are now open and avid trail runners are encouraged to enter by running the ‘Red Bull LionHeart’ segment on Strava by 10 November to set a time. Hopefully you’ll get your name on the leaderboard and qualify.
