In an attempt to squash some of the strange rumours around how McDonald’s makes its hamburgers, the fast-food chain has given an inside look into the process of how and where they get their meat from for their beef patties.
Former Mythbusters co-host Grant Imahara hosts the video, which shows the inside operations of the Cargill meat processing plant in Fresno, California. Cargill is the beef supplier of McDonald’s in America.
The beef is first inspected and loaded in a grinder, and fed into patty formers. They are then placed in a rotating spiral freezer to help lock in the flavor, before being packed into boxes to be shipped off to McDonald’s outlets around the country.
