Look, with a bucket list this cool, and the fact that 19 of the 20 were already ticked off, it really is no wonder that Neil Patrick Harris is going to host the 2015 Academy Awards. After all, it is the only thing left for him to do…
Jump out of a plane
Move to NYC
Saw a lady in half
Win a Tony Award
Perform with the Muppets
Star in a TV show
Bungee jump
Rap with Snoop Dog(g)
Juggle flaming torches
Star in Broadway show
White water rafting
Become an imagineer
Fly in hot-air balloon
Birthday treasure hunt
Meet the President
Have children
Sleep in Cinderella’s Castle
Get married
Write a book
Host the Oscars
My bucket list consists mostly of things I have done already, so that I can put a big fat tick next to them and feel good about myself.
Harris has a bunch of previously excellent hosts to be on par with – Ellen, Billy Crystal, Hugh Jackman, Whoopi Goldberg and Steve Martin – and as long as he is better than the Anne Hathaway/James Franco duo, then it should be a good show.
The charm, sense of humor and ability to dance and sing a great opening number that earned him critical praise at the Tonys and Emmys should serve him well on the Oscar stage.
Our favourite How I Met Your Mother star has already hosted the Tony Awards four times and the Emmy Awards twice, so the Oscars should be a breeze.
