The Steenkamps Have Been Taking Money From Oscar All This Time – But They’re Paying It Back

And so the plot thickens…

Turns out Oscar has been giving the Steenkamps R6 000 a month since Reeva’s death.

Gerrie Nel also brought up the sum of R375 000 that Oscar had offered to the Steenkamps. He had obtained this money by selling a car. June Steenkamp refused the money though, saying it was “blood money.”

Gerrie Nel has said that the Steenkamps will not keep the money and will be paying Oscar back as soon as they can afford to. Apparently Reeva’s parents were having financial difficulties.

“Dup De Bruyn, the Steenkamps’ lawyer, told the media following the close of court proceedings that the family would pay back the money as soon as they could afford to and that they had no plans to bring a civil case against Pistorius.”

At this stage, I am sure the Steenkamps are just wanting some sort of closure…
