Interesting. Personally, I think it’s all up to Zuma to pay back the money, but I’ve gone and realised that he never will.

This guy, Vumelani Mchunu, who lives at his parents’ house in Durban, has pledged to pay back the money on behalf of Zuma, to “put an end to the president’s woes”.

Mchunu wrote a letter to parliament’s ad hoc committee promising the above. After being on numerous radio shows and appearing in newspapers, he finally admitted to The Sunday Times that he does not even know Zuma.

It’s become known that Mchunu has no stable job, and that his “NGO”, the Public Members Unit Team (PMUT), is not registered as an NGO, and its address is fake.

So why is he doing this? His neighbours have laughed at the news, calling him an ‘attention seeker’.

“He admitted that they did not have the money to repay Zuma’s debts.”

After finally agreeing to a telephonic interview, he made excuses and said that PMUT is a group of people who fund the NGO out of their own pockets.

“We have realised that as we are in this process [of raising funds for Zuma] we should register the organisation so that it is transparent.”

The ANC’s Nkandla ad hoc committee chairman, Cedric Frolick, has disregarded the letter.
