In just a year, Khanyi Mbau has managed to have her talk show, Katch it With Khanyi, top the South African TV rankings.
As of September this year, Katch it with Khanyi is ahead of talk shows like 3 Talk, Motswako and Eksê: Let’s Talk with Masechaba Lekalake.
“Khanyi Mbau’s open book policy about her life in the spotlight is a mechanism she will use to get her guests to open up about their lifestyles. Celebrity guests and the like will be able to relate to Khanyi.”
According to TVSA, Khanyi’s show has a record 785 000 viewers per episode.
Khanyi has made her own headlines in the past, and, she says, this is why people feel relaxed and will open up to her on her show.
“I will use my own experiences to relate to my guests. For instance, in the case of someone like Mandoza, I know what it’s like to lose a car. I know the challenges that celebrities face because I have been there myself. We’ll explore things that no one really wants to talk about…the lingering elephant in the room.”
Clever girl. You can catch her show on eTV.
