The Apple iStore in Canal Walk, Cape Town, was the target of an armed robbery on Wednesday evening, with the thieves making off with an estimated R1 million worth of goods.
It’s reported that most of the goods taken included iPhones and iPads.
“As the suspects fled the scene, the centre’s response vehicle tried to apprehend them outside the centre. The suspects collided with the response vehicle and fired shots at the vehicle hitting the security personnel in the leg before exiting the parking area,” said a statement from the mall management.
This is not the first iStore that has been robbed in recent months, making authorities suspect that its a syndicated gang doing the jobs.
