Im trying to decide on a word to use to describe this situation.
Hilarious? Embarrassing? MORTIFYING?
What I do know is that Telkom has once again shown us what an AWESOME company they are.
The Telkom Knockout Cup has just drawn to a close, with many big name South African teams playing (Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns).
What should have been a proud moment during prize giving turned a bit sour when the man of the match was given his prize. Considering Telkom was the main sponsor of the tournament, one would think a years supply of data and phone calls would be a good prize. But no. The ruling telecommunications company threw an absolute bomb on the festivities.
“Kaizer Chiefs’ Kgotso Moleko and Orlando Pirates’ Patrick Phungwayo were awarded with the Man of the Match titles and received 5 gigabytes worth of data.”
FIVE GIGS OF DATA?
Nice.
You can barely update your weekly apps with that minuscule amount.
It then got a bit more awkies when Hlompho Kekana from Mamelodi Sundowns said he “would have to give the data away as he does not use Telkom as a service provider”.
AAAARGH.
