Banksy, one of the world’s most well-known street artists, has had one of his works labelled as “racist” and removed.
The mural in the English town Clacton-on-Sea depicted a group of pigeons holding anti-immigration signs at an exotic-looking bird as “offensive”, and was then painted over.
Nigel Brown, communications manager for the Tendring District council, said: “The site was inspected by staff who agreed that it could be seen as offensive and it was removed this morning in line with our policy to remove this type of material within 48 hours.
“We would obviously welcome an appropriate Banksy original on any of our seafronts and would be delighted if he returned in the future.”
Yeah… I’m sure you’re get a flattering one next time around.
