Here’s another moment of greatness for South Africa, and one that we can be INCREDIBLY proud of.
Due to the South African government absolutely having to kiss the behind of China, the Dalai Lama was once again refused a visa for this great land.
Mr Lama was going to attend the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates here in SA, but now he can’t. And because he is the Dalai Lama and everyone adores and respects him, they’ve gone and cancelled the whole event, and are going to move it to another country.
“We feel proud that the summit has been cancelled after we lodged a protest over denial of visa to the Dalai Lama. Even other Nobel laureates have lodged their protest over the issue.”
American Nobel Peace Laureate Jody Williams is happy that they have made a point.
Apparently China gave a “public declaration of thanks for South Africa’s decision to block the spiritual leader from entering South Africa”.
So, what could have put us in the International Headlines of Goodness has instead made us look like a bunch of twats. Well done, government, you awesome, awesome thing.
