Whoop! The joy. The happiness. The sunshine. The music. People, it’s Rocking the Daisies weekend, and we know a whole bunch of you are donning your festival clothes and packing up your tents and blow up mattresses for a few days of debaucherous fun in the sun.
Daisies has grown in size and popularity, to the extent that we now have to carry our phones around with us so we can contact our mates. Oh, yes, and obviously to take #selfies and Instagram the hell out of anything that looks good in lo-fi/earlybird/toaster.
But now you run the risk of losing your phone, and then you won’t be able to take any #selfies and you will want to cry into a bale of hay. You’ll be jumping up and down to MGMT or be so engrossed with the bass in the electro tent that you will not notice when your Most Precious falls out of your back pocket.
Sigh.
Worst moment ever.
This actually happened to me a few weekends ago whilst out on the town with the girls. Suddenly, the iPhone was gone. And because I am usually so good with looking after things, it was not insured. So Sunday turned out to be incredibly expensive for me as I desperately needed a new phone.
Had I insured my phone with Sure Thing, I would have been less sad. See, Sure Thing let’s you insure one or more electronic devices. So you can JUST insure your phone, or you can insure your entire Apple family (or Samsung/Sony/whatever).
Let me explain it like this. I got my iPhone 5s 32GB in March. Had I been paying insurance on it, it would have cost me about R139 a month. I lost my phone in August, so I would have paid R834 since March. Plus a R300 excess fee, that comes to R1134. THAT’S HOW MUCH IT WOULD HAVE COST ME TO GET A NEW PHONE. Instead, it cost me R10,499. Which made me want to cry into that bale of hay.
Be sure to visit Sure Thing before you head off to Daisies.
