When Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg moves into the neighbourhood, he makes his presence known.
Zuckerberg has bought a new home in Dolores Heights, San Francisco, and is busy with some pretty intense renovations, including boosting the cable infrastructure, because you can’t have bad internet when trying to run your own tech company.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, “no parking” signs have been posted on the block of 21st Street near Dolores Street for more than 17 months. Dozens of construction workers have been doing some serious work on the street, installing everything from new kitchen equipment to fibre-optic cables under the sidewalk.
The neighbours are not too pleased with all the hullabaloo over the fence.
“It’s hard to talk about it without sounding whiny or like the wealthy need to be punished just because they have money,” one neighbour told the San Francisco Chronicle.
“This is nothing short of a fortress,” another neighbour said.
Zuckerberg is also being sued over his purchase of four other adjacent homes in Palo Alto.
