While less famous than the Loch Ness monster, Iceland’s Lagarfljótsormur’s name is definitely more difficult to pronounce, so at least it has got that going for it.
The legendary creature has reportedly been spotted on video, and the Icelandic people are giving it the thumbs-up for authenticity.
A 13-member panel convened in Iceland has decided by a seven-vote (i.e. very narrow) majority that grainy footage released in 2012 in fact depicts Lagarfljótsormur, a legendary lake monster first reported in 1345.
