SnapScan is coming to Rocking the Daisies and taking your festival experience to the next level! No more fussing with cash or small change. Whether you’re grabbing some food or you just found THE onesie you need to unleash your festival alter ego, paying should be as easy as a snap.
“SnapScan is really about simplifying the way we pay for things,” explains Kobus Ehlers, co-founder of this homegrown startup. “Why bother carrying around cash, cards, or even a wallet? SnapScan allows you to pay with your phone in a way that is both safe and convenient.”
So, how exactly does this work? SnapScan will be providing this year’s Rocking the Daisies merchants with unique SnapCodes (QR codes). Once you’ve downloaded the app and loaded your South African cheque or credit card details onto it, your phone camera ‘reads’ this code and allows you to transfer money directly to the merchant you’re buying your goods from.
This makes the app a perfect fit for the festival environment. No cash, no standing in line to draw money from an ATM, and no need to carry your card with you either. Your card details are encrypted and securely stored on your phone, plus you choose your own unique four digit PIN to authorise payments. In other words, it’s not only easy but secure as well!
SnapScan saw the opportunity to create a no-fuss, easy payments environment at Rocking the Daisies, with their app being the perfect product to contribute to this vision. If all goes well, future festivals may well become completely cashless environments. If you’re heading to Rocking the Daisies, join the SnapScan team at their cashless bar or find their promotions team for a chance to win some promo credit at your favourite festival merchant. If you’re still hoping to get tickets, keep an eye on SnapScan’s Facebook page for ticket giveaways this week!
In celebration of Rocking the Daisies, SnapScan is giving away a pair of tickets to one of 2oceansvibe’s lucky readers! All you have to do is:
