The men who appeared in a viral video (above) in August have been arrested and are set to face trial this week for “inciting debauchery” and “offending public morality”.
The viral video shows a gay marriage ceremony aboard a a boat on the Nile river in Egypt, with two men in the centre kissing, exchanging rings and cutting a cake with their picture on it.
Homosexuality is not necessarily outlawed in Egypt and considered a sexual offence, but it can be punished under several different statutes on morality.
