This is one update you’re going to want to install…
iOS 7 was a step up, but iOS 8…
“On the outside, it looks almost identical to iOS 7, but once under the hood, you realize there’s something more powerful and useful at your fingertips.”
There are a few visual changes (don’t expect any new fonts though) which make the OS easier to use. You can now reply to notifications without leaving another app you might be in. You can double click the home button and your most recent, frequently used contacts will appear. And there are much needed improvements on the keyboard (I just wish they would move the backspace key), with predictive text now resembling that of Samsung and Google.
Still talking within messages and typing, the Messages app has a few great additions, making it similar to Whatsapp and Snapchat. You can now share your location, send voice messages with a tap, and quickly record video and selfies (yes! Selfies!)
“One of the biggest new features for iOS 8 — and OS X Yosemite — is the introduction of iCloud Drive.”
iCloud Drive allows users to be able to see everything on their iOS devices from other devices, including their Mac or PC.
There is also this nifty thing: You can answer calls to your iPhone on your iPad, so long as they are sharing the same wifi network. So you can now leave your phone to charge and still get calls.
iOS 8 is great, and it will only get better.
If you ever have any iOS questions, or anything Apple related, have a chat with Digicape, or tweet them @digimates, they know their way around!
