Following the verdict of the Oscar Pistorius trial, Reeva Steenkamp’s brother has addressed the media and expressed his disappointment with the outcome.

Adam Steenkamp, speaking with the Daily Mail, said that he and his family feel let down and betrayed by the South African justice system.

In my heart I know he has got away with it. He has got away with murder. I don’t understand the logic of acquitting someone of murder who fires four rounds into a very small toilet cubicle. It is not the action of someone not intending to kill.

I wouldn’t argue that the law hasn’t been applied but maybe the law is out of touch with reality, especially in that country.

After 41 days on trial, Oscar Pistorius was found guilty of culpable homicide.
