I can admit to spending hours virtually walking through the streets of my neighbourhood on Google Street View. It’s endlessly entertaining, for some reason. The entertainment only mounts at the thought that we can walk the streets of hundreds of cities around the world.
Google Street View has done a great job of bringing the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx to the world. It’s not unknown that north Africa is a less than desirable holiday destination at the minute, although this is sad as the diving in the Red Sea is incredible. But now, you can walk the pyramids from the safety of your desk/bed/sofa.
“You can head to the Google Cultural Institute’s Egyption Pyramid gallery and see archival photos and drawings.”
Google has added in cool extras that you can access from Street View.
Also, Google Street View has made a camel famous.
