Jeff Bridges plus White Russian… Did someone say “The Dude”?
Nope. No one did.
In this first short film by Kahlua Productions, Bridges is deliberately chosen to hype up the White Russian, but doesn’t play the legendary role of “The Dude” from the comedy “The Big Lebowski”.
The short film/advert is pretty eccentric, as Bridges narrates his past to a bartender in a smoky Jazz lounge, and we get to see the story unfold as he tells it.
“Not much is supposed to be explained,” said Brian Mequet, vice president of rum and liqueurs at Pernod Ricard USA, parent company of Kahlua. “It’s definitely left to the interpretation of the viewer.”
Why all of this effort for an advert? Kahlua Productions is intending to create content and events to promote its signature cocktails like the espresso martini and the mudslide. There’s also a large social media campaign via Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram around the video.
