A massive cocaine bust in Lima, Peru, has left authorities dancing for joy. 7.7 tons is a good amount to keep off the international drug market. This batch was heading for Belgium and Spain.
Six Peruvians and two Mexicans have been arrested. They had very artfully concealed the bricks of cocaine inside chunks of coal. The raid took place in Trujillo, in northern Peru. It was then flown in an Antonov police transport plane, with police wearing surgical masks.
“Historic Blow to Illegal Drug Trafficking.”
Interior Minister Daniel Urresti is happy with the catch. Peru is now the world’s leading cocaine producer.
